General manager

Ognian Draganoff was born in 1964 in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. After initial studies in trumpet and piano (1978-1983), he performed in the trumpet section in the opera orchestra of the Sofia (Bulgaria) National Opera. During this period he received both bachelor's and master's degrees (1993 and 1997) in opera directing, the latter at the Bulgarian Music Academy in the class of Professor Pavel Gerdjikov.

Thus far in his career, Mr. Draganoff has held the following positions:

  • stage manager for the Sofia National Opera (1986-1991);
  • assistant director for the French opera director, Albert-Andre Lheureux (1989-1990);
  • assistant stage and opera director for Plamen Kartaloff (1991-1996);
  • stage director at the Sofia National Opera (1996-2002);
  • vice manager of the Sofia National Opera (1998-2002);
  • general manager of the Balkan Opera Network Association (2003-2005);
  • general manager of Music House V'AMO and the New Europe Symphony Orchestra (2005-present);
  • free-lance opera stage director (2002-present).

Mr. Draganoff has directed numerous operatic productions in Bulgaria, Romania, Macedonia, Holland, Belgium, Italy, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil and Japan.

Mr. Draganoff is fluent in Bulgarian, Italian, English and Russian.

Ognian Draganoff is managed in Europe by Blue Danube Music Impresario (Vienna) and has worked with CEE Musiktheater (Vienna), and Agat-impresar house (Holland). In Brazil, he is managed by IMAGEM DATA.
